So you want to plan a surprise proposal for the love of your life but are utterly overwhelmed with the logistics and just HOW to do it! How to make it special? Go big and epic? Or on the couch, while eating take out during a Netflix binge…well, Jay decided to go big, like biggest waterfall in Washington big. He and Sonja have been together since high school, so he knew he wanted to make an impression. They climbed, they cried, they popped a bottle of bubbly and decided to spend the rest of their lives together. And I might have cried too…I mean c’mmon…
Washington has tons of gorgeous waterfalls, but Snoqualmie Falls definitely takes the cake. Snoqualmie Falls is a 270-foot waterfall that can be seen from two observation decks. Atop the falls sits Salish Lodge, a beautiful place to stay if you are just passing through.
This location is not for the faint of heart, and definitely requires nature-loving adventurous spirits, but it’s well worth the effort. The hike down to the lower observation deck is about a 1/2 mile each way. If you want to feel the spray, be prepared to scramble over boulders and fallen trees to get up close and personal. So if you’re looking for that quintessential PNW location with all the beauty, look no further.
